PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for improving the mental capacity not depending on the increase in blood glucose caused by ingestion of meal or snacks or a blood glucose response, and, in particular, means for maintaining or improving the mental capacity in a phase after a blood glucose response.SOLUTION: A composition including isomaltulose for improving the mental capacity of a subject, which improves the mental capacity of a subject after ingestion of the composition, in a phase after a blood glucose response with the blood glucose in the subject returning to +/-15% of the initial value before ingestion. A food, a beverage, or a medicine includes isomaltulose for improving the mental capacity in a phase after a blood glucose response.
