PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable safe and reliable attachment of a vertical tail to a rear fuselage with fewer personnel without using a ceiling crane device and to improve fuselage production efficiency.SOLUTION: A vertical tail attachment apparatus 1 includes: a pair of tower structures 2F and 2R installed upright on an assembly floor to face each other, and having a rear fuselage arrangement space S therebetween in which a rear fuselage RF can be arranged along a fuselage longitudinal direction X; a beam 3 that is installed between the tower structures 2F and 2R, that can rise/fall along a vertical direction Z, that can rotate about an axis along the fuselage longitudinal direction X, and that rises/falls and rotates while holding a vertical tail VS; and an elevating rotation mechanism 5 that causes the beam 3 to rise/fall along the vertical direction Z of the tower structures 2F and 2F, and that rotates the beam 3 such that the vertical tail VS held by the beam 3 changes an attitude from a generally horizontal attitude to a vertical attitude in response to the rise of the beam 3 from a lower side of the tower structures 2F and 2F to an upper side thereof.
