PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fare collection system capable of reducing the cost imposed on a business operator required for issuing a recording medium, a fare collection server, a ticket checker and a registration unit.SOLUTION: In the fare collection system, the ticket checker transmits a piece of ID card identification information and a piece of ticket checker passing information acquired from an ID card recording medium to the fare collection server. The fare collection server performs a fare calculation on the basis of the ticket checker passing information transmitted from the ticket checker. The fare collection server acquires a piece of credit card identification information which is associated with the ID card identification information transmitted from the ticket checker from a storage storing the ID card registration information, and performs a settlement on the calculated fare by using the credit card identification information acquired from the credit card identification information acquisition section.
