PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide; a spectral adjustment method for near-infrared absorbing materials, which allows for producing a cured film with a high near-infrared shielding property and desired spectral properties; a near-infrared absorbing composition and a manufacturing method therefor; a near-infrared cut filter and a manufacturing method therefor; a camera module; and a spectral modifier for copper compounds.SOLUTION: Provided is a spectral adjustment method for near-infrared absorbing materials, which includes a step for mixing a spectral modifier with a copper compound. The spectral modifier for the copper compound contains a compound (A1) having one or more ligand atoms with unshared electron pairs, or a compound (A2) having at least two coordination sites.
