PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize standby management of a microprocessor that allows for implementing at least two logic cores and placing at least one resource non-common to the at least two logic cores on standby.SOLUTION: After having determined (400) a desired standby state for each of at least two logic cores, the desired standby state of one of the at least two logic cores is compared with the desired standby state of the other of the at least two logic cores. In response to the comparison, instructions for preparing for standby and/or allowing the restoration of the one of the at least two logic cores are issued (420).
