PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable light condensing type photovoltaic power generation device with a structure having high practicability that can delay deterioration of raw materials in the neighborhood of a cell which may occur when an incident angle is deviated from 0 degree.SOLUTION: A light condensing type photovoltaic power generation unit 1U as a basic unit of an optical system has a light condensing unit 13 for converging solar light, a cell 21 for receiving light converged by the light condensing unit 13 and generating power, and an insulating frame portion 22a surrounding the cell 21, and further has a package 22 integrated with the cell 21, a shield plate 15 which is disposed between the light condensing unit 13 and the cell 21 and has an opening 15a through which light converged by the light condensing unit 13 is selectively passed, and a protection plate 23 which is formed of a heat-resistant material on the frame portion 22a so as to expose the cell 21 with light and shield the package 22 from the light, is set to be in contact with only the frame portion 22a, and which secures a predetermined insulation distance from a charging portion of the cell 21.
