FLOAT PROCESS FOR PRODUCING FLOAT PLATE GLASS AND FLOAT PLATE GLASS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method based on float plate glass for producing a float plate glass which is chemically strengthened in a high grade, and an associated plate glass.;SOLUTION: A glass ribbon with a specified width, which has a tin bath side facing molten metal and an upper side facing opposite to the molten glass, is formed by continuously sending the molten glass and drawing to a drawing direction. Then, the glass ribbon is cooled over a float bath, and lifted up from the molten glass and forwarded by a roller in a drawing zone including a float bath, a dross box and a slow cooling furnace, in a float process for producing the float plate glass. In that float process and the associated plate glass, flame F_n acts on a top face of the glass ribbon from the upper side at least at one position S_n, and the flame F_n has flame output of at least 5 kW/m for a width of the glass ribbon.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
