PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stopping seal material which can be easily peeled even after having been pasted once and can be re-pasted in a state identical to the initial state; and a sealing method.;SOLUTION: A water stopping seal material 20 used in a state where a long strip thereof for contiguously pasting a door hole seal 2 onto the door inner panel 1 of an automobile is being at least partially curled comprises: an extrusion-molded body portion 21 made of a vulcanized spongy rubber and endowed with a flexibility and an elastic recovery force in which following the exertion thereon of an external force and then the cancellation of the external force, the original shape can be restored; and a tacky layer 22 formed by coating a tackifier on the surface of the body portion 21 in a state where a difference is being created between the tackifying force of a tacky layer 22A formed on the surface of the body portion 21 on the door hole seal 2 side and the tackifying force of a tacky layer 22B formed on the surface of the body portion 21 on the door inner panel 1 side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
