VISUAL LINE POSITION DETECTION DEVICE AND VISUAL LINE POSITION DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for making it possible to accurately identify a position of a visual line of an operator during traveling of a vehicle.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle camera that photographs a front image is installed forward in a travel direction of a vehicle with respect to a face of an operator. A time required for the vehicle to run this distance is previously calculated on the basis of traveling velocity, and on the occasion of determining a position of a visual line of the operator by using a face image and a front image, the position of the visual line is determined by combining a front image photographed at a timing earlier than the face image by the required time with the face image. By doing this, it is possible to prevent an influence of installing the on-vehicle camera forward in the travel direction of the vehicle with respect to the face of the operator, and therefore it becomes possible to accurately identify the position which the operator sees during traveling of the vehicle.
