Provided are a method for nondestructive evaluation of stress corrosion cracking of a metal alloy structural element and a method for evaluating the remaining life of a metal alloy structural element, in which atomic ordering (or short range ordering) of alloy atoms is provided. The characteristic change of the metal alloy structural element used in the nuclear power plant during operation is measured according to the degree of the stress, and thereby the stress corrosion cracking of the metal alloy structural element is evaluated. The measured property can be one or more selected from the group consisting of hardness, electrical resistivity, and thermal conductivity. [Selection] Figure 1
