PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extensible structure while enabling significant reduction of material cost.SOLUTION: An extensible structure of an absorbent article is composed of a single air-permeable material 120 and comprising a sheet member 12S including a plurality of pleats 80 arranged in parallel to each other at intervals so as not to overlap each other in a lodging state and inter-pleat parts 85 in which the pleats 80 overlap each other in a lodging state, and slender elastic extensible members 90 arranged along the longitudinal direction of the pleats 80. The pleats 80 are joined to each other continuously or intermittently in the longitudinal direction of the pleats 80 so that at least opposing surfaces 80a and 80b of root parts 81 are not separated from each other. Outer surfaces of the pleats 80 are not joined to the inter-pleat parts 85 except for both ends of the pleats 80 in the longitudinal direction and the elastic extensible members 90 are arranged to the tip end side of the pleats 80 relative to the root parts 81 and at least both ends thereof are fixed between the opposing surfaces 80a and 80b of the pleats 80, in which contraction of the elastic extensible members 90 allows contraction of the pleats 80 and the inter-pleat parts 85.
