PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadband patch antenna and antenna array.SOLUTION: An antenna includes a rectangular medium material substrate, a radiation patch formed on the upper surface of the medium material substrate, a combining patch formed on the upper surface of the medium material substrate, and extending from one end thereof to a position separated by a predetermined distance from the radiation patch, and a metal support component installed on the lower surface of the medium material substrate, and extending downward from the vicinity of edge of the lower surface of the medium material substrate so as to be connected with the ground, thus forming an air layer of a predetermined thickness between the lower surface of the medium material substrate and the ground. According to the technique, directivity of a broadband microstrip antenna can be enhanced in the case of a small size.
