PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a semi-solidified metal production container that can cool a hollow member without wetting an inner surface of the hollow member.;SOLUTION: A cooling device 23 comprises a cooling tank 41 which contains a cooling liquid C, a retaining member 43 which retains a hollow member 31, and a driving device 45 which moves the retaining member 43 up and down so as to dip the hollow member 31 in the cooling liquid C in the cooling tank 41. The retaining member 43 has a hollow receiving member 57 which has a connection opening 57a formed to be open upward.
