Self-inducible expression system and its use to produce useful metabolites using Enterobacteriaceae bacteria

The present invention has been modified to include a gene expression system comprising elements of the transcription machinery regulated by LysR-type protein, modified so that the self-inducible and positive feedback regulation of the system is mediated by coinducers. Described are methods for producing useful metabolites using Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, in particular bacteria belonging to the genus Escherichia. This method is suitable for producing branched chain L-amino acids, particularly L-valine, L-isoleucine, and L-leucine, and D-pantothenic acid.
