PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional AC/DC conversion device that can precharge a smoothing capacitor even if an inrush current prevention circuit is not built-in, a method for preventing an inrush current to the capacitor in the bidirectional AC/DC conversion device, and a computer program for implementing the inrush current prevention method.SOLUTION: In a bidirectional AC/DC conversion device 1 including an inverter 5 for converting an alternating current and a direct current bidirectionally, a converter 10 for converting a voltage of a direct current bidirectionally, a capacitor C2 for smoothing a DC voltage converted by the inverter 5 and a DC voltage converted in a first direction by the converter 10, a capacitor C3 for smoothing a DC voltage converted in a second direction by the converter 10, and a control section 9 for controlling on/off the conversion by the inverter 5 and controlling the direction of conversion by the inverter 5 and the converter 10, the control section 9 sets the direction of conversion by the converter 10 to the first direction when turning off the conversion by the inverter 5.
