PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for forming a tissue piece capable of stably and accurately performing a winding around a mandrel when a sheet-like tissue piece is wound in a roll shape.SOLUTION: A tissue piece is used as each of tissue pieces in a tissue array in which the tissue pieces are arranged in an array state on a base plate. In a method for forming a roll-shaped tissue piece 6 by winding a sheet-like tissue piece 8 in a roll shape: a sheet-like tissue piece 8 is created by slicing a tissue block 5 comprising tissues embedded by an embedding agent; the sheet-like tissue piece 8 is placed on a mounting table 12; peeling means 13 is provided between the mounting table 12 and the tissue piece 8 so that the tissue piece 8 can be peeled easily from the mounting table 12; and a mandrel 11 is wound on the tissue piece 8 while heating the tissue piece 8 on the mounting table 12.
