PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To faithfully simulate the state of a building subjected to real seismic motions and sine waves, by using a shaking table and an expansion joint.;SOLUTION: A simulated seismic isolation building 9 formed by mounting a weight 8 on a building frame 4 having a seismic isolation function is placed on a shaking table 1. An expansion joint 3 is placed to bridge a space between the weight 8 of the simulated seismic isolation building 9 and the shaking table 1. More specifically, one end of the expansion joint 3 is connected to the simulated seismic isolation building 9 and the another end of the expansion joint 3 is joined to the shaking table 1 in a rigid combination 10. By inputting seismic motion into the shaking table 1 in such the state, the expansion joint 3 between the simulated seismic isolation building 9 on the shaking table 1 and the shaking table 1 is enabled to simulate seismic isolation conditions between: the seismic isolation building standing on a shaking ground; and the ground.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
