PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly extract, from fingerprint images stored in a database, a candidate image to be collated against an inputted specific fingerprint image (externally inputted image).;SOLUTION: A feature amount comparison processing unit is included which extracts, from a plurality of fingerprint images (database images) stored in advance by comparing feature amounts about feature points in the fingerprint images, a candidate image to be collated against a specific fingerprint image inputted from an external source (externally inputted image). A feature amount comparison processing unit 10 is provided with: a feature amount information calculation unit 11 for calculating the feature amount at each feature point on a fingerprint ridge on the basis of the direction of feature points relative to a reference point previously set in each of the fingerprint images; and a collation object candidate determination unit 12 for comparing feature amounts in the same corresponding area (marking areas) between the externally inputted image and the database images, and determining one of the database images for which a difference in the compared feature amounts is smaller than or equal to a prescribed value to be a candidate image for the externally inputted image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
