PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for summarizing an image content which does not require a skill for grasping the content and performs sufficient display to understand the content.SOLUTION: An apparatus for visualizing the degree of activity within an image comprises: a display screen controller for controlling the display screen of a display; an image controller for acquiring image data and displaying an image on a portion of the display screen; a panel controller for setting an area of interest within the image as a panel; an activity degree calculator for calculating the degree of activity within the panel; and a seek bar controller for displaying as a seek bar the degree of the activity within the panel with respect to the lapse time of the image.
