PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide earphones useful for operation, an audio playback system including the earphones, and an automatic control method for the audio playback system.;SOLUTION: An audio playback system according to the present invention includes earphones and an audio playback device. The earphones include a first ear piece, a second ear piece, a first plug, a second plug, a first sensing unit, and a second sensing unit. The audio playback device includes a first jack, a second jack, and a control unit. The earphones are inserted into and connected to the first jack via the first plug. The first sensing unit is provided in the first ear piece, and the second sensing unit is provided in the second ear piece. Both the first sensing unit and the second sensing unit are connected to the second plug, and the second plug is inserted into the second jack.
