PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting or preferentially collecting a gene or gene product including a long chain-repeating sequence such as a variant allele that has a long repeating sequence and causes diseases more than a gene or gene product having a short chain-repeating sequence such as a normal allele having a short repeating sequence. PSOLUTION: The method for selecting or preferentially collecting a gene or gene product including a long chain-repeating sequence includes processes of: (a) a process of hybridizing a synthetically labelled RNA probe including a repeating sequence in the base sequence of a sense chain or antisense chain of gene to genomic DNA obtained from a living body, all RNA or cDNA synthesized from the all RNA; and (b) a process of collecting and purifying a conjugate between DNA or RNA obtained in the process (a) and the synthetically labelled RNA probe on the basis of the label.
