PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method for corrosion of a furnace bottom refractory body in a melting furnace capable of measuring a thickness of the furnace bottom refractory body without entry of a worker into a furnace, and applicable both while the melting furnace is in operation and while out of operation.;SOLUTION: The detection method for corrosion of a furnace bottom refractory body in a melting furnace measures a corrosion amount of a furnace bottom refractory body 18, in a melting furnace 10 where a slag layer 22 is accumulated at a furnace bottom and a metal layer 23 is accumulated under the slag layer, due to melting processing of objects to be processed put into the furnace. Before operation of the melting furnace 10, an initial length of a furnace bottom electrode 12 is measured in advance. During operation of the melting furnace 10 or when operation is stopped, ultrasonic waves are emitted from an end, on the outside of the furnace, of the furnace bottom electrode 12, and on the basis of a waveform received by a vibration receiving sensor installed at the end on the outside of the furnace, a length of the furnace bottom electrode is calculated. The length of the furnace bottom electrode is compared with the initial length, and thereby the corrosion amount of the furnace bottom refractory body is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
