PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quaternary ammonium salt dimer having a halohydrin group and a long chain hydrocarbon group and manufacturing method thereof for providing an animal hair fiber modifier for modifying an animal hair fiber to dye the animal hair fiber with deeper color by ordinary temperature exhaustion dyeing.;SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of a quaternary ammonium salt dimer having a halohydrin group represented by the formula (II) and a long chain hydrocarbon group by a reaction of a specific amine and halohydrin. Formula (II), where R¹ represents a C2 to 15 saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group, R² represents a C1 to 6 saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group and R³ represent a C2 to 9 saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
