PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system for a marine diesel engine, capable of enabling waste water to be discharged into ocean even when navigating the special sea area for treatment waste water or out of the special sea area, in exhaust gas treatment of a marine diesel engine using inferior grade fuel of a grade equal to or inferior than that of heavy fuel oil in particular.SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control system for a marine diesel engine using inferior grade fuel of a grade equal to or inferior than that of heavy fuel oil, comprises: a gas cooler provided along an exhaust gas passage or an EGR gas passage; an electrostatic cyclone exhaust emission control device installed on the downstream side of the gas cooler; and a PM-free scrubber, which is scarcely dissolving and removing the PM, provided on the downstream side of an electrostatic precipitating means.
