PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for evaluating a tube formation inhibitory effect, in which 50% inhibitory concentration of an affected substance can be simply obtained from a cultured cell image photographed by a tube formation test.;SOLUTION: The evaluation method includes: a step for extracting mesh areas from evaluation target image data and measuring the areas of the respective mesh areas and the number of the mesh areas; a step for measuring attribute evaluation items of the respective mesh areas; a step for calculating the tube formation capacities of the respective evaluation items as relative values in each concentration; a step for plotting the calculated relative values of tube formation capacities on axes radially extended in accordance with the number of evaluation items and creating a radar chart in each concentration; a step for adding up the tube formation capacities based on the size and distortion of a chart polygon calculated distances between an origin of the radar chart of each concentration and plotted points and calculating tube formation capacity to be an added value in each concentration; and a step for calculating a concentration dependent inhibitory curve and a 50% inhibitory curve by applying the tube formation capacity to be the calculated added value of each concentration to a sigmoid curve.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
