PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking agent and method which can be generally used to reduce the unpleasant taste and odor of various food products without addition of food additives, not having bad effect on the health such as diarrhea; and a food product with the unpleasant taste and odor being masked.;SOLUTION: The agent for masking the unpleasant taste and odor of food products includes a saccharide composition with a maltotriose content of 35 mass% or more. The method for masking the unpleasant taste and odor includes adding 1 pt.mass or more of the agent for masking the unpleasant taste and odor to 100 pts.mass of a food product.
