PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Proteiniphilum acetatigenes SROD1 (Deposition KCCM11219 P) having a methanation inhibition ability in a reticulo rumen of a ruminant as reductive acetogenic bacteria, and to provide a method for use thereof.SOLUTION: When feeding a microorganism preparation comprising Proteiniphilum acetatigenes SROD1 of the invention directly to a ruminant, or allowing a ruminant to ingest a feed for stock raising comprising the microorganism preparation, methanation in the reticulo rumen of the ruminant can be suppressed. And since it is safe with little damage to a human body or an animal, fundamentally reduces methane as a principal offender of global warming, and increases feed utilization efficiency, utility value thereof is very high.
