PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a gene of a Lepidoptera insect origin which shows resistance to a Cry toxin.SOLUTION: The resistance gene BGIBMGA 007792-93 to a Cry toxin is identified from the genome region of 82kbp(s) of a silkworm, and it has been found out that the presence or absence of the insertion of Tyr in the 234th place of an amino acid sequence of a protein which the gene encodes affects the resistance to the Cry toxin in a silkworm. The gene is used, thereby it is possible that a Lepidoptera insect which shows resistance to an insecticidal protein is bred, and the gene diagnosis of a Lepidoptera insect which shows resistance to the insecticidal protein is performed.
