PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction and recording magnetic head capable of controlling protrusion amounts of a reproduction sensor and a main magnetic pole layer separately.;SOLUTION: A reproduction head 100A includes a DFH (dynamic fly heater) 3 for causing the reproduction sensor 6 to protrude by heating, and the DFH 3 is located in a portion of a lower insulating layer 2 to be closer to a sensor end portion 31 of the reproduction sensor 6. A recording head 100B includes a DFH 17 for causing the main magnetic pole layer 18 to protrude by heating, and the DFH 17 is located in a portion of a lower insulating layer 16 to be closer to a recording magnetic pole end portion 14 of the main magnetic pole layer 18.
