The invention provides a speed reducer for wind power generation equipment, and the yaw drive device of wind power generation equipment, wherein the speed reducer is prevented from being damaged at a low cost even under the condition of an excessive wind load, while the incontrollable shaking phenomenon of a nacelle or windmill blades is avoided. The speed reducer (G1-G4) adopting wind power generation equipment comprises a small gear (24) arranged on an output shaft (84) and engaged with a gear arranged on the side of the wind power generation equipment. A traction reduction mechanism (32) is arranged between a motor (22) served as the drive source of the speed reducer (G1-G4) and the output shaft (84) of the speed reducer (G1-G4). The traction reduction mechanism (32), served as a simple planetary roller decelerating mechanism, performs the power transmission through the traction transmission.
