PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a sugar chain chip or the like by synthesizing saccharides in a buildup type.;SOLUTION: The method for forming the sugar chain chip includes, binding a sugar protected selectively by protective groups of hydroxy groups that is subjected to deprotection, with a substrate, introducing photocleavage-protecting groups W to the hydroxy groups after selectively deprotecting the first desired hydroxy groups, selectively deprotecting the protective groups W present in a desired region of the substrate by exposing the region with light, selectively introducing desired sugar or a capping group thereto, repeating the exposure and the introduction of the sugar or the capping group until the whole protective groups W on the substrate have been converted, selectively deprotecting the second desired hydroxy groups, and repeating the introduction of the W groups, exposure, and the introduction of the sugar or the capping group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
