PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving object measurement instrument which is easy to install and has high measurement accuracy.;SOLUTION: A moving object measurement instrument 1 includes: a first sensor 3 which measures a movement speed v1 of a moving object 11 at the time when a distance LA to the moving object 11 becomes a prescribed value; a second sensor 5 which senses the presence or absence of the moving object; and a control unit 7 which uses the prescribed value of the distance from the first sensor to the moving object and the movement speed v1 of the moving object measured by the first sensor to calculate a time T1 elapsed until detection of the moving object by the second sensor and, if the difference between this calculated time and an elapsed time (t2-t1) from a time t1 when the distance from the first sensor to the moving object becomes the prescribed value to a time t2 when the second sensor senses the moving object is within a prescribed threshold, uses the movement speed of the moving object measured by the first sensor and a time for which the sensing of the moving object by the second sensor continues, to calculate a length LV of the moving object.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
