PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alumina-doped zirconia nanoparticles in a single nanometer order, having low acidity of the surface and no possibility of modifying a resin when the particles are incorporated into the resin, and having a sharp particle size distribution and high crystallinity, and to provide a method for producing the nanoparticles.;SOLUTION: The alumina-doped zirconia nanoparticles comprise zirconia including a solid solution of alumina, and has an average particle diameter of 1 nm or more and 20 nm or less.
