PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus capable of reducing or avoiding pulsation of a piston pump unit for liquid chromatography.;SOLUTION: A control apparatus 5 for a pump unit 3 which includes at least two piston cylinder units 31 and 41 to be driven by shifting phases, performs non-isothermal compression from initial pressure to system pressure to cool a medium heated in a transfer step, performs non-isothermal expansion or adiabatic expansion, and in the succeeding filling step, transfers the medium to be transferred into a cylinder capacity of the piston cylinder unit or sucks the medium by the piston cylinder unit stops a driving device over a predetermined period during a measurement step of at least one piston cylinder unit compression step or a measurement step of a pressure reducing step and detects measurement data indicating time shift of pressure.
