Volume reduction processing system and volume reduction treatment method of PCB contamination

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method of reducing a volume of a secondary pollutant containing polychlorinated biphenyl.;SOLUTION: A culture medium containing microorganisms is housed in a decomposition tank 1, and the culture medium is set at a temperature, an oxygen content, and a pH value optimal for cultivating the microorganisms. The secondary pollutant containing PCB is introduced into the culture medium, and the secondary pollutant is decomposed by the microorganisms while the culture medium is being stirred. Gas generated during the decomposition is exhausted from an exhauster 9, and oil and residue developed in the culture medium is purified by a filter 12 and an oil-water separator 13 outside the decomposition tank 1. The purified culture medium is stored in a culture medium tank 15. The culture medium in the culture medium tank 15 is circulated in the decomposition tank 1 as needed to be reused for decomposition of the secondary pollutant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
