Patients suffering from a chronic or acute disease or condition may need to stabilize blood circulation, and the subject of the present disclosure is the patient's acute disease or Anti-adrenomedullin (ADM) antibodies, anti-adrenomedullin antibody fragments or anti-ADM non-Ig scaffolds for use in the treatment of disease states. In a preferred embodiment, an anti-ADM antibody, anti-adrenomedullin antibody fragment or anti-ADM non-Ig scaffold according to the present disclosure reduces vasopressor requirement, such as catecholamine requirement, in the patient. The patient's catecholamine requirement is an indicator of the patient's blood circulation pathology and hemodynamic function.
