The imidazoquinoline represented by the formula (I) is useful for inhibiting the growth or proliferation of mucoepidermoid cancer cells. The therapeutic and prophylactic treatment provided by the present invention involves administering to a patient in need thereof an amount of a compound of formula (I) that is effective to inhibit the growth or proliferation of mucoepidermoid carcinoma cells.
