PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating material for plastic substrates having good adhesive property for plastic substrates especially for both an ABS substrate and a polypropylene substrate, and giving a coating that is excellent in water resistance.;SOLUTION: The aqueous coating material includes an aqueous emulsion ( I ) having a weight average molecular weight of 80,000 or less, and a chlorinated polyolefin resin (II). The aqueous emulsion ( I ) is prepared by emulsion polymerization of an emulsion that is prepared by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture (A) that contains a cyano group-containing vinyl monomer (a1), a vinyl monomer (a2) that contains a hydroxy group having a carbon number of four or more, and another copolymerizable vinyl monomer (a3), and by adding to the emulsion another monomer mixture (B) that contains a cyano group-containing vinyl monomer (b1), a vinyl monomer (b2) that contains a hydroxy group having a carbon number of four or more, an acid-containing vinyl monomer (b3), and another copolymerizable vinyl monomer (b4) to further perform emulsion polymerization.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
