PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic opening/closing device of an opening/closing member where only negotiation with a design division of a manufacturer of a document pressing plate is required in adopting the automatic opening/closing device of the document pressing plate which is the opening/closing member to a copying machine which is a member to be opened/closed, the document pressing plate is easily removed from a device body during maintenance without exposing and projecting a driving means over the device body (member to be opened/closed) when it opens the document pressing plate (opening/closing member). PSOLUTION: The automatic opening/closing device automatically opens or closes the document pressing plate as the opening/closing member with respect to the member to be opened/closed, especially the device body of the copying machine of a business machine. The driving means for that is attached to the document pressing plate side as the opening/closing member mechanistically independently of the device body as the member to be opened/closed, and is configured to rotate together with the device body as the opening/closing member when the document pressing plate as the opening/closing member is opened or closed.
