PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time until final design by constructing a technique of estimating deformation in attaching a bumper to a vehicle body with improved reliability and certainty.;SOLUTION: A method of setting an expression for estimating deformation of a resin bumper includes: classifying step S1 of classifying drawing element data of bumpers of multiple models of vehicles designed in the past depending on whether a bumper is fastened to a radiator support in a vehicle length direction or the bumper is fastened in a perpendicular direction; a correlation acquisition step S2 of acquiring correlation with a quantity of drooping caused when the bumper is attached for each of classified drawing element data; a technical matching determination step S3 of determining whether the sign of correlation showing a relatively high value matches in view of technical relation between the corresponding drawing element and quantity of drooping; and a regression analysis step S4 of performing regression analysis of only drawing element determined to match and then setting an expression for estimating the quantity of drooping using the regression-analyzed drawing element as a variable.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
