PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly perform overlapped-feeding determination from a thin sheet to a thick sheet without generating misdetection by a reversal phenomenon between one thick sheet and two thin sheets generated in sheet overlapped-feeding detection using only a peak value or misdetection by influence of exogenous noise.;SOLUTION: A sub CPU 180B obtains at least two sample hold values of timing of discharge completion and timing of a peak about an obtained peak detection signal S₅, the sub CPU 180B obtains a gradient of the peak detection signal S₅ on the basis of the obtained sample hold values, and performs overlapped-feeding determination of a sheet 10 passing a first feeding path by the obtained gradient, and the sub CPU 180B determines that a signal level of the peak detection signal S₅ obtained by a detection circuit 50 when the sheet 10 passing the first feeding path is in an overlapped-feeding state is reduced, by the gradient of the peak detection signal S₅, and detects the overlapped-feeding state of the sheet 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
