PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fracture toughness measuring method of a test piece capable of measuring crack length created in a test piece in an IF method with high precision and high reproducibility, capable of coping with a measurement in a low magnification, and excellent in versatility.;SOLUTION: A fracture toughness measuring method includes the following steps of: (1) press fitting a Vickers indenter on a surface of a test piece and creating indentation and a crack; (2) applying a mixed solution which contains resin and a solvent on the surface of the test piece, and forming a transparent coat for wrapping the indentation and the crack; and (3) measuring diagonal line length and crack length of the indentation on the surface of the test piece in which the transparent coat is formed, using a microscope.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
