PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid identification device and a fluid identification method for simply identifying a type of fluid existing inside a tubular member without particular limitation.;SOLUTION: A fluid identification device 1 includes: a transmission probe 12 which transmits ultrasonic waves; a reception probe 14 which receives transmitted and propagated waves which transmit through a tubular member P and are propagated in a tube and propagated waves in a body which are propagated inside a body part of the tubular member P among the ultrasonic waves to be transmitted from the transmission probe 12; a cancellation probe 18 which transmits cancellation waves for canceling the propagated waves in the body; an acoustic velocity calculation part 24 which calculates propagation velocity of the ultrasonic waves inside the tubular member P based on time difference until the transmitted and propagated waves are received by the reception probe 14 after the ultrasonic waves are transmitted by the transmission probe 12; and a fluid determination part 25 which determines a type of fluid G existing inside the tubular member P based on the propagation velocity calculated by the acoustic velocity calculation part 24.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
