PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a semi-bridgeless power-factor improvement circuit that allows downsizing and reducing cost and to achieve a method of driving the semi-bridgeless power-factor improvement circuit.SOLUTION: A sem-bridgeless power-factor improvement circuit includes an AC input power supply, a rectification bridge unit, a first boost converter, a second boost converter, and a pulse generator that pulse-drives the first boost converter or the second boost converter. The sem-bridgeless power-factor improvement circuit selectively drives the first boost converter and the second boost converter according to an input from the AC power supply. Among four circuit elements constituting the rectification bridge unit, at least either of two circuit elements through which a feedback current from the first or second boost converter flows is configured by a MOSFET that becomes conductive in agreement with feedback timing.
