composition of ethanolic extract and dichloromethane fraction rich in naphthoquinones and use as antimalarial agent. The present invention describes the process for obtaining the dichloromethane fraction and subfractions of eleutherine plicata, commonly referred to as "marupazinho, marupari, hover, coconut, marupai, marupaú, marupá-piranga, irium-washa-paimaira". The invention further comprises describing the method of obtaining this fraction and its composition as well as identifying a naphthoquinone. this fraction was tested and showed antiplasmodic activity, particularly against chloroquine resistant (w2) plasmodium falciparum.
