Method of detecting alarm condition for a system of sensing by optical fibers, and optical fiber sensing system. A method is presented for detecting an alarm condition system with a sensing optical fiber.An interrogator with a light source, a spectrometer, and a data processor, is used to conduct a rapid scanning of a plurality of elements of the sensing optical fiber.The first parameter values are calculated for each element of environmental sensing optical fiber from data collected by the espectogru00e1ficos interrogator during the first sweep, and compared with a first threshold value.If the first parameter value exceeds the first threshold value for environmental element sensing optical fiber, scanning is stopped to perform a fast slow scanning high resolution of this element of the sensing optical fiber. The system of fiber optic sensing reports an alert if this slow scanning high resolution indicate the alarm condition
