The method involves maintaining liquefied natural gas in a storage container (31). Boil-Off gas is evacuated from the container, and is triggered by passing in a triggering equipment and valve assembly (361) during filling the container with the natural gas from a methane tanker (32) such that the boil-off gas is at pressure equivalent to the initial pressure. A fraction of quantity of the boil-off gas is sampled and reinjected in the tanker at a volumic flow equivalent to an extraction flow of the natural gas to maintain pressure in the tanker equal to the initial pressure. An independent claim is also included for an installation for receiving and storing liquefied natural gas, comprising a storage container.
