The invention relates to the composition of amino acids for the treatment of fetal growth retardation (IUGR) or for parenteral nutrition of premature babies from 24 to 34 weeks of gestation. The composition includes a mixture of amino acids, or artificial or modified analogs of amino acids, or selected from the group of substitutes consisting of isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine, arginine, histidine, ornithine, glycine, alanine, proline, aspartate, asparagine, glutamate, glutamine, serine, tyrosine, taurine, hydroxyproline, citrulline, cysteine. The solution contains amino acids whose concentrations or concentration ratios correspond or are closest to the physiological concentrations of amino acids or their ratios in utero in the blood plasma of a healthy fetus from 24 to 34 weeks of gestation.
