METHOD OF SEISMIC OBSERVATION OVER THE EARTH SUBSURFACE AREA

The invention provides a method for passively collecting seismic data that uses real-time or near-real-time computation to reduce the amount of data that needs to be moved from the field to the processing center. Many calculations that are traditionally applied to passive source data can be performed in streaming data. The raw data that passes through the field system can be processed into manageable chunks, after which the original data can be deleted and intermediate results can be accumulated and periodically saved. These stored intermediate results are at least two, and more likely three orders of magnitude less (by volume) than the raw data from which they are derived. Such a volume of data that is easy to store, transport or transmit allows you to practically use the passive collection of seismic data for continuous, almost real-time seismic observation.
