EXTRACTING THE TRANSVERSE DATA OF THE SV MODE FROM THE WAVES OF THE SEA SEISMIC SURVEY

A system and method for processing seismic data obtained using a plurality of towed receivers of a single component in the marine environment are proposed, and towed receivers of a single component are configured to measure longitudinal P waves. The method includes extracting from the storage device seismic data containing PP data and transverse mode data, wherein PP data and transverse mode data are received by towed single component receivers configured to measure longitudinal P waves to generate seismic data. The method further includes processing seismic data to extract the transverse mode data of the SV-P and generate transverse mode image data based on the extracted transverse mode data.
